DHAKA, Oct 30, 2019 (BSS) – Visiting Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi today expressed his country’s keen interest to work with Bangladesh in the field of energy and power.

 

“We’re keen to work with Bangladesh in the field of energy and power for mutual benefits of the two countries,” he said when he paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganabhaban residence here in the afternoon.

 

After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters.

 

Pointing out Bangladesh’s rapid development in the last one decade, Sherida Al-Kaabi said: “The more you develop the more you need energy.”

 

In this connection, the Qatari state minister said they have taken initiatives to generate more electricity ahead of the World Cup Football-2022 in Qatar.

 

He also said Qatar will continue supports for further development of Bangladesh.

 

The prime minister recalled her visits to Qatar, the press secretary said.

 

PM’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi, Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman and Qatari Ambassador in Dhaka Ahmed bin Mohamed al-Dehaimi were present on the occasion.
