Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) extends USD 200 million long-term credit facility to IDCOL for financing infrastructure projects in Bangladesh.

 

In this regard, a loan agreement has been signed by Economic Relations Division (ERD), Ministry of Finance on 26 April 2022. 

 

The credit facility will be utilized to finance priority private sector infrastructure projects in sectors like energy, transport, ICT, energy efficiency, renewable energy, social infrastructure etc. IDCOL will extend the financing in both US Dollar and Bangladeshi Taka to eligible projects. 

 

IDCOL, a government owned non-banking financial institution is the country’s leading financier in the private sector infrastructure, renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors. IDCOL plays a significant role in catalyzing private sector investment across these segments.

 

The signing ceremony was attended, among others, by Fatima Yasmin, Secretary, Economic Relations Division (ERD) and Chairman, IDCOL; Md. Shahriar Kader Siddiky, Chief (Asia Wing), Economic Relations Division; Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director and CEO, IDCOL among others.
