Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) has ensured cent percent electrification in 461 upazilas across the country.
BREB is working relentlessly to fulfill Sheikh Hasina's Initiative -- Power to All.
Under the supervision of BREB Chairman Major General Moin Uddin (Retd), a dedicated team is working tirelessly to supply electricity to every home, said a press release.
Considering the geographical reality of Bangladesh, 100 percent electrification in the shortest time is a very difficult matter.
But, due to the direction and strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, this impossible mission has become possible in a short time.
With a view to supplying electricity to every house of the country, BREB undertook the 100 percent electricity coverage program marking the Mujib Year.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already inaugurated the cent percent electricity coverage in 288 upazilas, while 173 upazilas are waiting for the inauguration.
Now, BREB is working to bring 1,059 villages under the electricity coverage shortly, the press release mentioned.
There were 240,000 consumers in the area in which BREB has to provide electricity coverage in three phases.
