Over 100 electricity poles in the middle of the busy Patenga Road in Chattogram city are hampering vehicular movement seriously and posing threat of accident.
Despite repeated complaints by the locals, the authorities concerned have not yet taken any measure to solve the problem on the road in Steel Mill Bazar in the city.
The problem has arisen following construction of an elevated expressway in the area. The pillars of the expressway have been built in the middle of the road expanding both of its sides for vehicular movement.
But the previously bored electricity poles have not been removed from its position. As a result, the poles are lying erected just in the middle of the road.
Construction firm Max International under Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) is constructing the elevated expressway from Lalkhan Bazar to Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport.
