Employees of Barapukuria Coal Mining Company Ltd (BCMCL) declared their managing director (MD) unwanted recently.
Petrobangla transferred MD Fazlur Rahman to Maddhapara Granite Mining Company Limited in Parbatipur upazila. Fazlur said he received his transfer order.
The action was taken following several complaints filed against the MD of BCMCL with its parental company Petrobangla and the ministry concerned for his unilateral move to transfer officials and staffs as punishment without any reason.
“It’s nothing but a harassment,” said an official wishing anonymity.
Mosharraf Hossain Sarkar, manager of Survey and Mine’s planning department, is the close aide of the MD. The employees also demanded removal of Mosharraf as he was accused in coal scam case.
