An elderly woman was burned to death after a fire broke out in her house in Faridpur's Madhukhali upazila recently.
The deceased was Jobaida Khatun, 85, wife of the late Jalil Molla of Majkandi village, said Md Jakir Hossain, chairman of Raipur Union Parishad.
He said, "I have learned that Jobeda Khatun was trapped inside the house and burned to death in the fire."
A firefighting team from Madhukhali Fire Station rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control, but found Jobaida Khatun dead on the spot.
