DHAKA, Oct 9, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said his ministry always encourages research works for introducing innovative ideas in the power and energy sector.

 

“Research works would be continued for sustainable development through innovation in the power and energy sector,” he told a seminar as the chief guest at Bijoy Hall here.

 

Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) organised the seminar “An Overview of EPRC Funded Applied Research Projects” with its chairperson Shahin Ahmed Chowdhury in the chair.

 

Among others, power division secretary Dr Ahmed Kaikaus and Power Cell Director General Engineer Mohammad Hossain spoke on the occasion. Bangladesh Power Development Board Chairman Engineer Khaled Mahmood was also present.

 

The BEPRC provided fund for two research works –“Integrated Concept for Converting Solid waste to Energy (InConSolE)-Waste to Bi-coal for Power Generation” and “Future Grid: Demand Response Enabled Future Smart Grid to Maximize Intermittent RE Penetration and Reduce Electricity Loss and Theft.”
