Speakers at a seminar recently called on the business communities and the governments of South Asian countries to adopt climate-resilient technologies in the industry and agriculture sectors.
Terming South Asia most vulnerable to climate change, they said the countries in the region should work together in harmony to offset the impacts of climate change.
The seminar titled 'A Climate Resilient South Asia: Turning Climate Smart Investment Opportunities into Reality' was held at a city hotel.
The event was jointly organized by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Anisul Islam Mahmud attended the seminar as the chief guest.
FBCCI president Md Shafiul Islam chaired the session attended by SCCI president Ruwan Edirisinghe, SCCI-Bangladesh vice president Mahbubul Alam, SCCI senior vice president Iftikhar Ali Malik and SCCI-Nepal vice president Chandi Raj Dhakal.
