A meeting on 'Climate Adaptation' was held at the conference room of deputy commissioner (DC) recently.
A non-government organization Islamic Relief arranged the meeting where DC Md Masud Alam Siddiki was chief guest.
Among others, Bangladesh Agriculture University (BAU) Professor DrMd Abdul Momen Mia, Country Director of Islamic Relief Golam Md Motasim Billah, and Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture Extension Prashanta Kumar Saha were also present.
Speakers said Bangladesh has achieved tremendous success in agriculture and became 10th in food production in the world. The climate change is a challenge to this achievement. In this connection, farmers have to be trained properly so that they can adapt with the climate changes.
BAU teacher Md. Abdul Qader presented the keynote paper, while Project Coordinator of Islamic Relief Abu Nur Md Khalid conducted the function.
